If there’s one essential oil each household should have, then Tea Tree oil is the best; it’s of the most versatile oils and it can be used directly on the skin because it’s not as irritating as other oils.

It’s a powerful aid to boost and maintain a healthy immune system and as a powerful antimicrobial and antiviral agent. Diffuse it often and especially when someone in the family is sick to prevent the spread of germs from one person to another.

Other ailments that could be used with a nebulizer include the following: viral infections, allergies, asthma, fever, colds and flu, respiratory problems, etc. Its fresh, camphoraceous scent works great to eliminate unpleasant odors such as pet odor and food cooking.

Topical Application

Hair: apply a few drops to your regular shampoo to treat dandruff, apply a few drops to the scalp and massage well to eliminate lice. You can also put a few drops into a dog shampoo.

Skin problems: apply on the skin undiluted directly on acne, oily skin, herpes, abscesses, tooth and gum infections, and cold sores. Mix a few drops into a bottle of with distilled water and use it as a face wash, or toner.

Athlete’s foot, fungal infections, and abscesses, infectious illnesses: apply directly to the affected area or diluted for larger areas. Dilute in a bath water to help ease vaginal infections.

Blisters, burns, chickenpox, insect bites, skin rashes, sunburn, warts, and wounds: apply directly on the skin.

Laundry: put a few drops into the washing machine to disinfect linens and clothing.

Household cleaning: due to its antimicrobial properties Tea Tree oil is ideal for mixing with a bottle spray of water and scrape all surfaces, including tubs, tile, and toilets to kill off germs.

Effective mouthwash: pour a drop into a glass of water and rinse after brushing the teeth to maintain a healthy dental hygiene free of chemicals found on commercial mouthwashes. Do not swallow.

Oil Specific: avoid while pregnant or nursing. Do NOT ingest. Could be toxic to pets; use with caution.

General: keep out of reach of children and pets. Not for internal use unless taken under the supervision or recommendation of an aromatherapist professional. Do not use undiluted on skin, eyes, or mucous membranes; it could cause allergic reactions. Always test first on a small portion of your skin.
